This is an educational event, where participants will become familiar with the brain, as well as some specifics about their disease, what current research is happening here in Central Florida, and get a chance to tour our laboratories at Lake Nona (in Medical City).
Patients, caregivers and families will be given a short primer on the science of Parkinson’s disease and the sort of research being done, they will have several educational stations in the research laboratories for participants to learn about the brain, basic genetic ideas and research tools used for a wide variety of neurological conditions and the work done in our lab. There will be a short reception. This will be a fun, educational event where people directly affected can see the work UCF is doing right here in Central Florida.
